Privacy and cookies
In short: your progress stays on your own device. We count games anonymously, use Microsoft Clarity to see how the site is used, and show ads from Google, which only use cookies for personalised ads if you agree.
Who is responsible
Quiz the Map is run by Dines Midtgaard, Denmark. Contact: [email protected].
Your progress
Scores, settings, streaks and the mistake bank are stored only in your browser (localStorage), and we cannot see them. You can delete them under Stats → Reset all progress, or by clearing the site data in your browser. If you put your name on a leaderboard, that name and your result are stored on our server and shown to other players.
Statistics
When a game starts or ends, the site sends us an anonymous count: which quiz, the result, whether you use a phone or a computer, and which website you came from (for example TikTok or Google). We only keep totals per hour – no IP address, no cookie and nothing that identifies you. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies.
Ads and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show ads, which pay for running the site. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads, and personalised ads only with your consent. On your first visit you can accept or decline. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of the pages.
How Google uses data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used, with heatmaps and recordings of clicks, taps and scrolling. Clarity hides sensitive content by default. For visitors in the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland it works without cookies. How Microsoft uses data: privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages), which processes technical data such as IP addresses in server logs to deliver the site securely.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete your data, and to complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (datatilsynet.dk) or your local authority.
